Pusri carries out Marketing and Distribution of fertilizer by prioritizing the fulfillment of fertilizer needs in the country to support the agricultural development program aimed at reinforcement of national food security. The management of PT Pusri strives to keep  cautious by observing both physical development, distribution and marketing of fertilizers from periods on fertilizer issue, to monitor and prepare the working methods for strategic distribution and marketing.

 

Pusri must tackle a tough mission, quite complex internal and external conditions, and fertilizer which should reach the SIX ACCURACY targets (time, quantity, type, place, quality and price accuracy).

 

Distribution patterns and marketing stocks must meet some factors in which the source of production (fertilizer plant) has a constant production characters, while the the using of fertilizer is fluctuating and influenced by some factors such as season, transportation (sea condition, ports, roads , trucks and trains).

 

 

Maximum efforts are conducted regularly to avoid the unwanted emergence of High Cost Economy by developing distribution patterns by Least Cost Pipe Line Distribution Pattern and Distribution System method:

Pipe Line Distribution System
Due to the geographical conditions of Indonesia islands, spreading and dispersed agricultural production centers and remote supply points, PT Pusri implements the fertilizer distribution pattern representing a fertilizer distribution chain from producer/ importer to the consumer in a uncut line in order to serve the fertilizer supply to farmers continously with the 6 Accuracy principle.

 

Least Cost Distribution System
The distribution pattern with the Lowest Cost is the fertilizer distribution pattern arranged through the nearest point to get the most inexpensive distribution total cost. Moreover, a breakthrough is implemented with more profitable ways such as direct delivery of bagged fertilizer from supply point to the line II or III if possible.

Mechanism

To ensure and prevent the divergence of subsidized urea fertilizer distribution in the field, a policy is taken to implement closed subsidized fertilizer distribution system by using Defnitif Plan of Group Need ( RDKK ) issued by farmers' groups as the redemption of fertilizer to the official kiosks. The advantages of Closed Distribution System with this RDKK pattern are :

  1. Facilitate subsidized fertilizer distribution supervision.
  2. Meet fertilizer demand and supply to farmer inn accordance with their needs.
  3. Create more effective fertilizer distribution.

This system requires farmers as subsidized fertilizer consumer to establish farmer groups and compose fertilizer need plan for their groups. The plan is embodied into RDKK form by the acknowledgement of local Agriculture Service officer to be then submitted to the distributor. These forms will be a basis by Distributor to propose fertilizer demand to PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero). The completeness of data and administration record are the RDKK system application key of success.

The Company, for fertilizer distribution to the hands of farmers, has the distribution devices and facilities:

  • Representative Office

The company has representative office in every provincial capital city called Kantor Pusri Pemasaran Daerah (PPD) (Regional Marketing Pusri Office) situated at Sumatera, Java, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and South Sulawesi regions. Representative office functions as technical executor for selling product and represents the company’s interest in region.

 

  • Jetty / Port

The five jetties consists of 2 (two) bulk urea loading jetty, each is equipped with QSI (Quality Ship Loader) and PS (Portal Scrapper), 2 (two) bag-urea loading jetties, each is equipped with BSL (Bag Ship Loader), and 1 (one) jetty for bulk ammonia loading in adjacent with conventional urea loading.

  • Fleet / Sea Transportation

Pusri has one unit of SPUB (Self-Propelled Urea Barge) Ship MV Pusri Indonesia-I with design capacity 11.000 ton urea.

  • Bagging Unit

Besides the bagging unit situated at Palembang Production Unit, the Company has also 5 (five) bagging units at other regions namely, Fertilizer Bagging (UPP) unit at Belawan, Cilacap, Surabaya, Meneng/Banyuwangi and Semarang Representative, each is equipped with a Jetty and Public Port (like ports of Dumai, Panjang, Cigading/Ciwandan and Cirebon) the bagging is done through Mobile Bagging System (MBS).

 

  • Storage Warehouse

To keep the avalability of fertilizer supply, the Company also has 108 Fertilizer Storage Warehouse (GPP) units at Regencies/Municipalities all over the country, excluding leased warehouses.
